About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Supervise the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
Provide classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
Assist in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
Develop teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy and train faculty and other instructional staff in use of said instructional techniques and programs
May administer budget and personnel for instructional grants and programs
Assess learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
Develop grant proposals for instructional development and may serve as principal or co-principal investigator on grants to develop new teaching methods in the discipline
Design curriculum and/or techniques for instruction in a disciplinary area and suggest new ways of effective instruction in courses within that discipline
Present evaluations of teaching methods and techniques to those in the institution and elsewhere

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hold an Ed.D. or Ph.D. in higher education, student affairs, adult education, or a closely-related field from an accredited higher education institution by the time of application.
Demonstrated ability to teach online graduate-level courses in the field of higher education, including familiarity with high impact practices for teaching online courses.
Experience in program administration and coordination, preferably in a higher education setting.
Experience working with diverse student populations and demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion through teaching, research, and/or service.
Experience working with graduate students at the master and doctoral levels, including advising master’s students and doctoral candidates, and serving on doctoral project committees.
