About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
  • Provide classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
  • Assist in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
  • Develop teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy and train faculty and other instructional staff in use of said instructional techniques and programs
  • May administer budget and personnel for instructional grants and programs
  • Assess learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • Develop grant proposals for instructional development and may serve as principal or co-principal investigator on grants to develop new teaching methods in the discipline
  • Design curriculum and/or techniques for instruction in a disciplinary area and suggest new ways of effective instruction in courses within that discipline
  • Present evaluations of teaching methods and techniques to those in the institution and elsewhere

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hold an Ed.D. or Ph.D. in higher education, student affairs, adult education, or a closely-related field from an accredited higher education institution by the time of application.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach online graduate-level courses in the field of higher education, including familiarity with high impact practices for teaching online courses.
  • Experience in program administration and coordination, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion through teaching, research, and/or service.
  • Experience working with graduate students at the master and doctoral levels, including advising master’s students and doctoral candidates, and serving on doctoral project committees.
