About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepares and processes financial reporting and/or invoicing information
- Assists principal investigators with financial management of sponsored program budgets and directs day-to-day fiscal transactions
- Serves as subject matter expert to leadership, staff, and institutional stakeholders regarding sponsored programs accounting and financial operations, policies and procedures
- Advises departments or researchers on appropriate post-award modifications
- Provides expertise and advice related to procurement and allowable charges
- Audits and approves subaward invoices
- Reviews financial expenditures for accuracy on sponsored grants and contracts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of one year of experience in sponsored grant financial management, post-award accounting, and compliance with higher education, government, or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, university, state, federal, and non-federal sponsored programs rules and regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
- Ability to make independent decisions and use good judgment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Associate Degree preferred; focus in business, finance or accounting
