About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with business leaders, process owners, and end users in a matrixed environment to ensure alignment between unit needs and system capabilities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes, workflows, and challenges across assigned functional areas.
  • Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and outputs.
  • Provide strategic guidance on reporting solutions, including selecting and designing tools such as Workday reports, Tableau dashboards, or other platforms to best meet business needs.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear functional specifications for system configuration and development.
  • Partner with WEST teams and vendors to design, implement, test, and deploy enhancements.
  • Lead change management efforts, including impact assessment, communication strategies, and end-user training.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
  • Monitor business process performance and adoption, proactively identifying and driving opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable, campus-wide solutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex business processes, requirements gathering, and developing business solutions
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis
  • Experience working with ERP data (e.g., Workday), including understanding data models, relationships, and table structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot reporting issues and ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to synthesize data and information into presentations and materials
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of methods to analyze business needs and recommend relevant solutions including policy, process, or system improvements.
  • 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst with progressively increasing responsibilities, or 3+ years experience supporting Workday as a Business Analyst
  • Proven experience leading process improvement projects or initiatives in higher education, government, or other complex organizations.
  • Experience developing or supporting data visualization and reporting solutions (e.g., Workday Reporting, Tableau, or similar tools).
