About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare, review, and conduct complex financial processes and procedures under the general supervision of Department Leadership.
  • Assist with post-award processes, procurement transactions, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting and other duties as assigned.
  • Provides and prepares budgets and projections based on existing data and established policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and analyzes financial data, reports and records, identifies discrepancies, investigates, recommends, and implements solutions as needed.
  • Answers questions and provides accounting related information to internal and external stakeholders according to established policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains automated financial systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
  • Prepares and/or approves financial transactions and payments.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated independent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • 2 or more years prior experience processing financial transactions in accounting systems.
  • Proficiency with advanced Excel functions and ability to create complex spreadsheets and reports.
  • Knowledge and experience using accounting systems and databases as well as the ability to query and compile financial data from the systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent professional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
