About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare, review, and conduct complex financial processes and procedures under the general supervision of Department Leadership.
Assist with post-award processes, procurement transactions, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting and other duties as assigned.
Provides and prepares budgets and projections based on existing data and established policies and procedures.
Prepares and analyzes financial data, reports and records, identifies discrepancies, investigates, recommends, and implements solutions as needed.
Answers questions and provides accounting related information to internal and external stakeholders according to established policies and procedures.
Develops and maintains automated financial systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
Prepares and/or approves financial transactions and payments.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated independent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
2 or more years prior experience processing financial transactions in accounting systems.
Proficiency with advanced Excel functions and ability to create complex spreadsheets and reports.
Knowledge and experience using accounting systems and databases as well as the ability to query and compile financial data from the systems.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and under pressure within tight deadlines.
Excellent professional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
