About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage multiple UT technology projects on behalf of the Office of Information Technology (OIT)
Develop project plans within constraints of schedule, budget, quality, resources, risk, and scope
Evaluate project budgets and schedules
Communicate progress to project team members and stakeholders
Identify, track, and aid in the resolution of project issues
Maintain and administer the project and portfolio management (PPM) system
Mentor and train other staff on project management and the PPM tool
Research, recommend, and implement project methodology & process improvements
Author and maintain documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 4 years’ experience as a technical IT project manager in the telecommunications industry
Experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction
Time management and analytical skills
Broad working knowledge of all three disciplines within the OIT Communications group: Voice, data and video
Excellent written and communication skills
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
Certified PMP (preferred)
Minimum four years’ experience in large scale enterprise IT communications design (preferred)
Knowledge of information technology, information systems, IT Construction methodology and project management via formal education (preferred)
Knowledge of software development & implementation, system building & integration (preferred)
Knowledge of Higher Education and large IT enterprise environments (preferred)
