About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multiple UT technology projects on behalf of the Office of Information Technology (OIT)
- Develop project plans within constraints of schedule, budget, quality, resources, risk, and scope
- Evaluate project budgets and schedules
- Communicate progress to project team members and stakeholders
- Identify, track, and aid in the resolution of project issues
- Maintain and administer the project and portfolio management (PPM) system
- Mentor and train other staff on project management and the PPM tool
- Research, recommend, and implement project methodology & process improvements
- Author and maintain documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a technical IT project manager in the telecommunications industry
- Experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction
- Time management and analytical skills
- Broad working knowledge of all three disciplines within the OIT Communications group: Voice, data and video
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
- Certified PMP (preferred)
- Minimum four years’ experience in large scale enterprise IT communications design (preferred)
- Knowledge of information technology, information systems, IT Construction methodology and project management via formal education (preferred)
- Knowledge of software development & implementation, system building & integration (preferred)
- Knowledge of Higher Education and large IT enterprise environments (preferred)
