About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage multiple UT technology projects on behalf of the Office of Information Technology (OIT)
  • Develop project plans within constraints of schedule, budget, quality, resources, risk, and scope
  • Evaluate project budgets and schedules
  • Communicate progress to project team members and stakeholders
  • Identify, track, and aid in the resolution of project issues
  • Maintain and administer the project and portfolio management (PPM) system
  • Mentor and train other staff on project management and the PPM tool
  • Research, recommend, and implement project methodology & process improvements
  • Author and maintain documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a technical IT project manager in the telecommunications industry
  • Experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction
  • Time management and analytical skills
  • Broad working knowledge of all three disciplines within the OIT Communications group: Voice, data and video
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
  • Certified PMP (preferred)
  • Minimum four years’ experience in large scale enterprise IT communications design (preferred)
  • Knowledge of information technology, information systems, IT Construction methodology and project management via formal education (preferred)
  • Knowledge of software development & implementation, system building & integration (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Higher Education and large IT enterprise environments (preferred)
