About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Personally solicit Wharton Fund prospects at the Young Franklin and Benjamin Franklin Society levels
- Visit 100–125 assigned prospects and donors
- Manage the full-time MBA class gift program
- Recruit MBA student leaders and foster a culture of philanthropy
- Coordinate MBA class-gift programming and collaborate with MBA student affairs colleagues
- Recruit and manage fundraising volunteers for two reunion years
- Train volunteers and ensure they are current in the volunteer database
- Assign classmates to volunteers for solicitation and oversee progress
- Provide volunteers with regular updates on class progress toward goals
- Achieve annual Wharton Fund cash and participation goals through donor outreach, solicitation, stewardship, and relationship management
- Identify and qualify prospective major gift donors through research, outreach, and relationship assessment
- Provide major gift colleagues with well-vetted prospects for cultivation and solicitation
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to build and manage relationships with alumni, volunteers, and high-capacity donors
- Experience with engagement and long-term pipeline development
- Proven frontline fundraising or sales skills
- Ability to solicit gifts confidently and meet or exceed performance goals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including senior-level and international alumni
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and track progress toward goals
- Ability to use data to inform strategy
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment and collaborate across teams
- Experience with CRM or fundraising databases such as Salesforce or Blackbaud
- Experience with data entry, reporting, and prospect tracking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to manage communications and analyze data
- Ability to analyze reports and donor data to inform outreach strategies
- Comfort using digital tools for volunteer management, communications, and engagement
- Background checks may be required after a conditional job offer
