About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conducts comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients with acute, chronic, or potential injuries and illnesses
  • Performs an appropriate physical examination
  • Appropriately transcribes, enters, and executes standing orders at the direction of the supervising physician
  • Provides patient education
  • Fits patients with splints, crutches, braces, wraps, and other orthopedic appliances
  • Completes surgical booking sheets before surgery
  • Assists attending physicians with paperwork for patients
  • Maintains the orderly and professional appearance of the clinic
  • Assists physicians and clinic staff with filing charges, billing, and insurance authorizations as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Active FL Athletic Trainer license
  • Board of Athletic Trainer Certification (BOC)
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others
