Clinical Dietitian 1 – Specialty
University of MiamiClinical Dietitian providing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy at the University of Miami. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to support cancer patients' medical goals.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assesses the nutritional needs of patients and develops and implements nutritional care plans
- Documents the nutritional status and needs of hospitalized patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines
- Communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients
- Initiates and follows patients for nutrient intake analysis and makes recommendations for continuance progression or initiation of alternate therapies
- Writes orders for diet, supplement, enteral/parenteral nutrition and laboratory data per hospital policy
- Provides counseling and education to patients and their families regarding various topics in medical nutrition therapy and drug nutrient interaction
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
- Valid State of Florida Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) license required
