About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assesses the nutritional needs of patients and develops and implements nutritional care plans
  • Documents the nutritional status and needs of hospitalized patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines
  • Communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients
  • Initiates and follows patients for nutrient intake analysis and makes recommendations for continuance progression or initiation of alternate therapies
  • Writes orders for diet, supplement, enteral/parenteral nutrition and laboratory data per hospital policy
  • Provides counseling and education to patients and their families regarding various topics in medical nutrition therapy and drug nutrient interaction

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Valid State of Florida Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) license required
