Manager, Employee Accommodations – On-Site
University of MiamiManager overseeing administration of employee accommodations and leaves at University of Miami. Supervising leave coordinators and specialists while ensuring compliance with ADA and other laws.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the administration of leaves of absence and workplace accommodations requested by employees and/or applicants
- Supervise individuals employed as leave coordinators and accommodation specialists
- Connect with health care practitioners and other University departments to obtain pertinent information
- Communicate and direct appropriate measures concerning accommodation requests
- Assist in the development and facilitation of training and relevant policy development
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee information
- Consult with Risk Management to coordinate ergonomic assessments, as needed
- Develop and maintain a directory of accommodation options and available resources
- Ensure employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ of relevant experience directly in the management and administration of accommodations
- Knowledge of the ADA and other related laws addressing persons with disabilities
- Knowledge of various alternative formats and alternative technologies that enable individuals with disabilities to communicate, participate, and perform tasks
- Ability to work cooperatively with employees, supervisors, other University departments, and external entities to review and coordinate reasonable accommodations
- Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office)
