Counsellor

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Undertake individual counselling with students, in-person and remotely.
- Work as part of a large team helping students.
- Provide guidance on therapeutic decisions influenced by the organisational context.
- Work during semester time on a part-time basis (21 hours per week, 3 days per week).
- Participate in a supportive multi-disciplinary service.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy with relevant post-qualifying experience.
- Have Counsellor/psychotherapist accreditation with BACP (or other PSA registered body) or working towards accreditation.
- Skilled in practicing brief therapy and in delivering therapy remotely (online and by telephone).
- Knowledge of adolescent development and risk assessment.
- Have a clear understanding of how the organisational context impacts on therapeutic decisions.
- Experience of working with students in a higher education setting is desirable.
