About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide quality direct patient care for a group of young children, including serving mealtimes, assisting with feeding, diapering, and dressing
Provide developmentally appropriate behavioral guidance within daily scheduled activities
Follow the direction of the Early Childhood Development Specialist to provide individualized developmental services in assigned treatment rooms
Establish exciting learning environments for young children
Apply curriculum to address objectives contained in each child’s treatment plan
Partner closely with the Early Childhood Development Specialist to provide daily care, support, and developmental interventions
Support children from birth to age five with special medical and developmental needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED plus six (6) months experience working in the care of children
Other education may be substituted for experience, including CCOT, CDA, AA, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
Must pass state abuse registry checks
Must pass a drug screen
Must submit to a TB skin test and required immunizations or provide proof of immunizations
Strong organizational skills
Ability to identify educational and developmental needs of children
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and other child care professionals
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of early childhood curriculum
Ability to perform frequent physical activities including climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, talking, and walking
