About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Decontaminate medical instruments and materials by disassembling and cleaning them by hand and/or machine
  • Assemble, package, inspect, and test instruments
  • Reassemble sets, place sets in proper containers and/or wrapping, and load/transport prepared carts
  • Maintain records of loads and items removed from the department for processing
  • Transport loads to and from CSS and properly store instruments and equipment
  • Use and test sterilizing equipment
  • Perform dart and biological tests for autoclaves and diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer
  • Record and accurately interpret test results
  • Assist OR staff and help locate needed supplies and equipment
  • Communicate professionally when fulfilling demanding or stressful requests
  • Serve the Operating Room's sterile instrument and equipment needs
  • Answer directly to the Sterile Processing Manager
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to follow oral instructions
  • Ability to read and write
  • Computer literacy in Word/Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • IAHCSMM/CBSPD Certified CRCST/CIS professional license/certification
  • Sterile Processing Experience
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Substance Abuse Testing
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
