About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Decontaminate medical instruments and materials by disassembling and cleaning them by hand and/or machine
Assemble, package, inspect, and test instruments
Reassemble sets, place sets in proper containers and/or wrapping, and load/transport prepared carts
Maintain records of loads and items removed from the department for processing
Transport loads to and from CSS and properly store instruments and equipment
Use and test sterilizing equipment
Perform dart and biological tests for autoclaves and diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer
Record and accurately interpret test results
Assist OR staff and help locate needed supplies and equipment
Communicate professionally when fulfilling demanding or stressful requests
Serve the Operating Room's sterile instrument and equipment needs
Answer directly to the Sterile Processing Manager
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to follow oral instructions
Ability to read and write
Computer literacy in Word/Excel
Good communication skills
IAHCSMM/CBSPD Certified CRCST/CIS professional license/certification
Sterile Processing Experience
Annual TB Screening
Criminal Background Check
Substance Abuse Testing
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
