About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform general cleaning of campus buildings, including offices, classrooms, auditorium, restrooms, and other assigned areas
- Empty campus trash receptacles
- Clean and refill paper towel, toilet paper, and soap dispensers
- Clean restrooms using proper cleaning and disinfectant procedures
- Clean desks, tables, chairs, countertops, marker boards, windows, and other surfaces
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors
- Operate floor scrubbers and floor-stripping equipment as needed
- Notify the supervisor of needed maintenance and repairs
- Work cooperatively with campus faculty, staff, and students
- Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Able to effectively communicate in English orally and in writing
- Able to read instructions and warning labels in English
- Able to move freely from room to room and building to building
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Able to push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, stoop, and crawl
- Must work assigned shifts; occasional weekend work may be necessary
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must complete required child maltreatment, criminal background, motor vehicle reports, sex offender registry, and substance abuse testing checks
- Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
