About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and support the day-to-day operations of multiple federally funded research projects in molecular cancer epidemiology and translational cancer research
- Coordinate research activities, manage study timelines and milestones, oversee data collection and quality assurance, and maintain research databases
- Ensure accurate documentation of study procedures and outcomes
- Conduct statistical and bioinformatics analyses of epidemiologic and multi-omics datasets
- Assist with development and implementation of reproducible computational workflows
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and multidisciplinary research team on study design, data interpretation, and project execution
- Assist with participant recruitment, biospecimen tracking, and laboratory coordination
- Train and mentor graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate
- Prepare scientific manuscripts, abstracts, conference presentations, technical reports, and grant applications
- Generate publication-quality figures and tables, interpret research findings, and conduct literature reviews
- Disseminate research results through publications, scientific meetings, progress reports, community outreach materials, and other scholarly communications
- Maintain IRB protocols, data use agreements, REDCap databases, biospecimen inventories, and study documentation
- Assist with compliance involving institutional, NIH, and federal regulations, data security, and responsible conduct of research
- Prepare protocol modifications, continuing reviews, and progress reports; support study monitoring and audits
- Organize research meetings, coordinate collaborations, mentor trainees, support laboratory and project management, strategic planning, and grant development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of research experience required
- Doctoral degree (PhD) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline preferred
- Two (2) years of research experience in epidemiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, public health, or biomedical research preferred
- Relevant graduate research experience may be substituted for professional experience
- Training in molecular epidemiology, cancer research, computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or other biomedical research methodologies
- Experience with human subjects research and NIH-funded research preferred
- Experience with CHIP-seq data analysis
- Expertise in molecular epidemiology, computational biology, bioinformatics, and project coordination
- Experience with genomic and transcriptomic data analysis, REDCap database management, and statistical programming highly desirable
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively within a multidisciplinary research team
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
