About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct clinical services for pediatric patients according to established protocols and evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician
  • Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations
  • Interpret hemodynamic data
  • Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings in medical records
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician
  • Provide family-centered care
  • Use current research and evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice
  • Participate in staff education and educate APRN/PA students, residents, and/or fellows
  • Provide leadership and professional interaction within the team
  • Coordinate with families regarding the child’s care and progress in person, by telephone, or email
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally
  • Adhere to standard policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement or research projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • APRN: Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing
  • APRN: National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • APRN: May have certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in acute or primary care
  • PA: Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board
  • PA: Current Arkansas Physician Assistant license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
  • Pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
