About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct clinical services for pediatric patients according to established protocols and evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician
Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations
Interpret hemodynamic data
Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings in medical records
Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician
Provide family-centered care
Use current research and evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice
Participate in staff education and educate APRN/PA students, residents, and/or fellows
Provide leadership and professional interaction within the team
Coordinate with families regarding the child’s care and progress in person, by telephone, or email
Communicate respectfully and professionally
Adhere to standard policies and procedures
Participate in quality improvement or research projects as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

APRN: Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing
APRN: National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
APRN: May have certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in acute or primary care
PA: Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board
PA: Current Arkansas Physician Assistant license
Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
