About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct clinical services for pediatric patients according to established protocols and evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician
- Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data
- Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings in medical records
- Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
- Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician
- Provide family-centered care for children's healthcare needs
- Use current research and evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice
- Participate in staff education and educate APRN/PA students, residents, and fellows
- Provide leadership and professional interaction within the team
- Coordinate with families regarding the child's care and progress in person, by telephone, or email
- Adhere to policies and procedures
- Participate in quality improvement or research projects as needed
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing
- National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the specialty of Pediatrics
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification in acute or primary care may be held; acute care preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Specialized certification and regulation by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including criminal background check, drug testing, and/or education verification
