About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct clinical services for pediatric patients according to established protocols and evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician
Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data
Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings in medical records
Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician
Provide family-centered care for children's healthcare needs
Use current research and evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice
Participate in staff education and educate APRN/PA students, residents, and fellows
Provide leadership and professional interaction within the team
Coordinate with families regarding the child's care and progress in person, by telephone, or email
Adhere to policies and procedures
Participate in quality improvement or research projects as needed
Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing
National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the specialty of Pediatrics
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification in acute or primary care may be held; acute care preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Specialized certification and regulation by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including criminal background check, drug testing, and/or education verification
