About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct clinical services for patients according to established protocols and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician.
- Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data.
- Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
- Formulate and implement a treatment plan for the management of acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician.
- Document in medical records appropriately.
- Provide family-centered care to meet the child’s health care needs.
- Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice.
- Participate in staff education, and educate other APRN/PA students, residents, and/or fellows.
- Provide leadership and professional interaction within your team or to team members.
- Coordinate with families the care and progress of their child in person, by telephone, or by email as appropriate.
- Communicate with others with mutual respect and professional demeanor.
- Adhere to all standard policies and procedures.
- Participate in QI or research projects as deemed necessary by your department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- APRN: Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing.
- National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- May have a certification as a Pediatric Nurse practitioner in either acute or primary care.
- PA: Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board.
- Current Arkansas Physician Assistant license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
