About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Works under the direct supervision of the clinic physician by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients
  • Conduct patient interviews and all required screenings, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and record information in patients' Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and ensure exam rooms are stocked with supplies needed for patient care activities
  • Perform administrative tasks by registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc., using various registration and scheduling systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent
  • One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
