About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Effectively perform as part of a team
- Maintain compassion towards patients
- Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to a select group of patients
- Refer any problems encountered with patients to the attending physician
- Provide direct patient assessment, performing measurement required to evaluate the eye
- Test and record visual acuity appropriately for patients with all levels of acuity
- Collect current data from in-person patient assessments including ophthalmic medications
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma/GED preferred
- Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- One (1) year of ophthalmic/optometric assisting or experience in a medical setting.
