About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for managing case requests, ensuring accuracy and the completion of all required pre-authorizations and clinical screenings prior to placing on the schedule
- Schedulers monitor requested times for alignment with case time averaging and scheduling policies/procedures
- Collaborates with procedural area leadership in determining appropriateness of placement and alignment with staffing and targeted rooms in operation at specified times
- Schedulers are integral players in ensuring all capacity, access, and utilization targets are met, resulting in achievement of budgetary/revenue expectations
- Acts as the point of contact for procedural scheduling for all UAMS departments/clinics staff and providers.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate, GED, or formal education equivalent plus (7) seven years of training and/or experience in business office administration, customer service, or related work
- Three years’ experience in patient registration, scheduling, or billing in a healthcare environment OR Bachelor's degree plus three years’ experience in patient registration, scheduling, or billing in a healthcare environment
- High level of skill and understanding of Epic Optime required.
