About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Office of Student Services and student organizations
  • Ensure student activities comply with university policies
  • Review requests for meetings, events, speakers, fundraising activities, and promotional materials
  • Maintain student organization records, calendars, handbooks, and annual reports
  • Share information about events, scholarships, employment, and professional development opportunities
  • Promote College of Pharmacy activities and accomplishments through newsletters, social media, and the website
  • Plan and coordinate student events, ceremonies, orientations, interviews, career fairs, and other activities
  • Manage the Student Ambassador Program
  • Coordinate alumni networking and mentorship opportunities
  • Maintain and distribute student rosters and class information
  • Track and report student absences
  • Coordinate student wellness and community-building activities
  • Maintain and share student resources
  • Respond to student questions and connect students with appropriate services
  • Protect confidential student information
  • Collect and analyze feedback to improve student programs and activities
  • Maintain Office of Student Services data and databases
  • Schedule and coordinate team meetings
  • Supervise three student workers
  • Provide professional customer service and maintain positive working relationships
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field PLUS three (3) years of experience in event planning, event coordination, and/or project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong event-planning, project-coordination, leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to stay organized and work independently
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field PLUS two (2) years of administrative, event planning, event coordination, and/or project management experience
  • Intermediate-level computer proficiency and the ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Experience with Workday, SurveyMonkey, and REDCap
  • Knowledge of UAMS policies and practices
