About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work under the supervision of the pharmacist to provide excellent customer service to patients receiving specialty infusion medications
- Responsible for the overall management of specialty infusion medications as related to coordinating with financial assistance teams, prior authorization teams, and scheduling teams
- Complete regular outreach calls to remind patients of upcoming specialty infusion appointments and check on the overall wellbeing of the assigned patients
- Manage prior authorizations and financial assistance for assigned specialty infusion patients
- Serve as a role model and assist in the training of staff
- Refer all clinical issues to the pharmacist
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS/GED plus 4 years of Pharmacy Tech Experience or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
- 1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program
- National Technician Certification (PTCB)
- Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Licensure
- Competent in all areas and technician roles
- Preferred Qualifications: 1 year to obtain ASHP/ ACPE accredited technician training, or certificate program (such as PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician, ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate, etc.)
- Master’s Degree
- 2+ years of UAMS pharmacy experience
- Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience)
