About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care.
  • Perform a broad range of neurosurgical procedures within area(s) of expertise.
  • Participate in the department's neurosurgery call schedule.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with neurosurgical conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and other learners.
  • Participate in clinical, translational, or basic science research.
  • Contribute to scholarly activities, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement, academic, and administrative initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency (or equivalent training).
  • Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) or equivalent.
  • Eligible for or currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Arkansas.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care and academic medicine.
  • Fellowship training in a neurosurgical subspecialty (as applicable).
  • Experience in an academic medical center.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills across a broad range of neurosurgical procedures.
  • Record of clinical, translational, or basic science research.
  • Peer-reviewed publications and scholarly presentations.
  • Experience teaching medical students, residents, or fellows.
  • Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Expertise in the diagnosis and surgical management of neurological disorders.
  • Excellent operative judgment and technical proficiency.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Strong leadership, teaching, and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
