About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct patient care as an RN
- Coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers
- Effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions
- Work with individual patients, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans
- Collect and document assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard
- Develop patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data
- Evaluate the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes
- Administer medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act
- Verify and evaluate care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family centered care principles
- Support the integration of current evidence into nursing practices
- Promote an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff
- Provide effective patient/family education/discharge planning
- Effectively collaborate and communicate with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders
- Communicate care appropriately through documentation in the medical record
- Report variances in care/systems/processes through the appropriate means
- Participate in recruitment/retention of staff
- Facilitate development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience
- Current active Registered Nurse License
- ICU, ED and/or PACU experience (preferred)
- 2 years minimum RN experience (preferred)
