About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Producing quality images and providing patient care in the UAMS Breast Center
- Operates specialized radiologic equipment to perform high quality breast imaging exams including mammography and breast ultrasounds
- Maintains adequate level of supplies and keeps workspace clean
- Communicates mammography exam procedures to patients and enlists patient cooperation in positioning for radiological examination
- Provides patient education regarding mammography and breast health
- Assists with records management and scheduling appointments
- Obtains patient history and enters into Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Schedules exams and reviews previous records to determine correct studies are performed
- Ensures exams are completed and images are in Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) systems
- Enrolls patients in BreastCare Program as appropriate
- Maintains knowledge of breast procedures including ultrasound biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, MRI guided biopsy, and needle localizations through continuing education and professional development
- Completes other duties as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma
- Graduate of a Radiological Technology Program
- Registered with ARRT
- Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License
- RT(R) Mammography Registered (preferred)
