About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assemble supplies for surgical procedures
- Set up and maintain the sterile field
- Pass surgical instruments
- Assist with the in-room preparation
- Coordinate care for the surgical case, surgeon, nurses, and other team members
- Ensure availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for assigned cases
- Responsible for the preparation of the Operating Rooms
- Ensure that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases
- Exhibit practical knowledge of OR equipment, including maintenance and safety aspects
- May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School GED
- Graduate of a NBSTSA-accredited or a NCCT-approved Surgical Technology school/program
- Surgical/scrub tech training through the military
- Minimum of two years on-the-job training (OJT) surgical/scrub experience at an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center
- Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write
