Clinical Interpreter

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist English and Spanish speaking patients with Medicaid applications.
- Major responsibility is processing Medicaid applications for our Spanish speaking patients who need financial assistance.
- Proficiency in verification of Medicaid application.
- Increases knowledge of Medicaid categories; DHS programs and UAMS internal programs.
- Beginning understanding of Medicaid policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or High School diploma plus 4 years formal interpreting experience
- Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate with others effectively.
- Strong computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- Two years of experience interpreting and translating, preferably in a medical setting, including one year medical, Medicaid, and clerical experience
- Experience in healthcare insurance and billing.
- Knowledge in advanced medical terminology and medical coding.
- Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish.
