About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and reconcile the Daily Appointment Report (DAR) daily to ensure all scheduled appointments are accurately reflected in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Pre-service activities include, but are not limited to, insurance verification, referral authorization, documentation upload, and pre-registration.
  • Serve as the subject-matter-expert on Government Payors.
  • Resolve patient access-related items within billing work queues, including registration inaccuracies, insurance verification issues, and demographic corrections.
  • Provide operational support by ensuring desk coverage as needed.
  • This position will float to various clinics, including Jones Eye Institute, Cardiovascular, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, Specialty Clinics and Cancer Institute.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School/GED plus 4 years of experience in customer service, call center, business office administration, registration, billing, insurance, or scheduling OR Associate degree plus 2 years of experience in customer service, call center, business office administration, registration, billing, or scheduling.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  • Three (3) years of experience in patient registration, scheduling, or billing in a healthcare environment. (Preferred)
  • CHAA certification (Preferred)
