About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary facilities leader overseeing operations across the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus System, including the new UAMS Surgical Hospital.
  • Initially focus on guiding the new surgical hospital through construction, commissioning, go-live, and into sustained operations.
  • Provide leadership for facility operations, including pre-opening construction oversight, facilities management, team supervision, safety and emergency management, financial and budget management, and strategic planning.
  • Report to the Executive Director of Engineering Operations and collaborate closely with clinical, operational, and administrative leadership across the regional campus system.
  • Lead a critical phase of facility development and ongoing operations for the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus System, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care across the region.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in facilities management, engineering, healthcare administration, or a related field plus six (6) years of progressive planning and facilities management experience, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • OR High school diploma/equivalent plus ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in planning and facilities management, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience with healthcare construction or pre-opening facility operations.
  • Working knowledge of accreditation and licensure requirements for healthcare facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
