Pharmacy Specialist – Neurology Infusion
University of Arkansas SystemClinical Pharmacy Specialist responsible for safe medication therapy and optimization of patient care. Working under minimal supervision with an emphasis on collaboration and expertise in clinical pharmacy operations.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Clinical Pharmacy Specialists (CPS) are responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy.
- CPS works under minimal supervision to provide direct patient-centered care and integrated pharmacy operational services that optimize the patient care experience and drive organizational performance.
- A Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides expertise to the department expertise not routinely available in the pharmacy staff.
- Responsibilities include reviewing infusion treatment plans for appropriateness and proper dosing, coordinating pre-infusion medications, labs, and vaccinations, and participating in protocol and order set development.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency and/or at least 3 years of applicable experience
- Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligibility for licensure.
- PharmD preferred
- 5 years of applicable experience preferred
- Experience coordinating outpatient infusion therapy preferred
