Pharmacy Technician I – Cancer Institute Pharmacy
University of Arkansas SystemPharmacy Technician supporting the pharmacist in dispensing operations for the Cancer Institute at UAMS. Compounding sterile preparations and ensuring compliance with departmental policies while working efficiently.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist and support the pharmacist in the day-to-day dispensing operations
- Responsible for compounding sterile preparations, including chemotherapy infusions
- Utilize technology when necessary and appropriate, such as the electronic medical record and IV workflow software
- Ensure compliance with USP and required cleaning, deactivation, decontamination, and disinfection as defined by departmental policy and procedures
- Perform daily and monthly cleaning tasks for the cleanroom suites
- Prioritize work based on immediate need and rapidly changing workload
- Work as a team member to perform day-to-day work efficiently and accurately
- Any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS diploma or GED/BOP registration; Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Registration
- One (1) years relevant pharmacy technician experience
- Relevant pharmacy technician experience (i.e. previous sterile compounding experience, hazardous drug handling, etc.)
- Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience)
- Strong math skills
