Neuropsychological Technician

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collecting patient information and maintaining patient information
- Conducting tests and/or procedures that the employee is certified to administer
- Administering and scoring neuropsychological test batteries evaluating cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional status
- Assisting Neuropsychologists in diagnosis and treatment decisions
- Providing technical support to Neuropsychologists on specialty teams and clinical research projects
- Working with Neuropsychology trainees, maintaining databases
- Ensuring appropriate testing supplies
- Administering testing appropriately to determine localization of brain lesions, level of functional impairment, and other treatment decisions
- Documenting observations and maintaining accurate patient records
- Scheduling appointments and coordinating testing sessions
- Explaining testing procedures to patients and families
- Ensuring testing environments remain standardized and distraction-free
- Maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Entering data into electronic medical record (EMR) systems and databases
- Supporting research studies and clinical data collection in some settings
- Assisting with quality assurance and administrative tasks
- Working with patients who have neurological disorders, brain injuries, dementia, ADHD, autism, epilepsy, or psychiatric conditions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Psychology with appropriate coursework required for certification through the State of Arkansas Psychology Board
- Eligible for licensure as a Neuropsychology Technician
- Licensed as a Neuropsychology Technician through the State of Arkansas Psychology Licensing Board (preferred)
