Access Coordinator II – Ortho/OP Therapy
University of Arkansas SystemAccess Coordinator II assisting in patient care activities at UAMS. Responsibilities include patient registration and coordinating appointments and admissions.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Works under supervision and provides comprehensive support for patient care activities
- Meets, greets, and assists the public
- Answers telephones and/or may coordinate appointments, referrals, consults, tests and/or procedures
- Checks-in and registers patients, checks-out patients, collects payments and issues receipts
- Verifies insurance coverage and responds appropriately to the requirements of third-party payers
- Assists with coordinating hospital admissions and surgery scheduling
- Performs all duties of the Access Coordinator I level and other duties to support patient care activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of customer service or healthcare experience
- Basic proficiency with computers (preferably MS Office)
- Excellent telephone etiquette skills
- General knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners
- Call center experience (preferred)
- Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment (preferred)
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology (preferred)
