About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Oncology Social Work (OSW) Program Manager (non-licensed) is responsible for the coordination, administration, and oversight of patient financial assistance programs within the Oncology Social Work department.
  • This role manages the full lifecycle of financial assistance resources, including application review, grant administration (internal and external), expenditure tracking, and required reporting to ensure compliance and effective stewardship of funds exceeding $180,000 annually.
  • The Program Manager supports high-volume patient assistance operations, facilitating eligibility determination and coordination of financial resources such as lodging, transportation, food support, medications, and other essential needs.
  • This position ensures accurate documentation, tracking, and reporting of all assistance activities in alignment with institutional and funding requirements.
  • Additionally, the Program Manager coordinates lodging referrals for patients utilizing free or reduced-cost accommodations, working directly with patients and community partners to assess needs and secure appropriate arrangements.
  • This role is critical to ensuring timely access to financial support services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimizing the delivery of resources to oncology patients and their families.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, business or related field
  • Two (2) years’ experience in healthcare, oncology, social services or care coordination project/program management with financial tracking and reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills including effective communication, follow-through, service recovery and de-escalation
  • Proficient in technology systems, including Epic and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, systems, and competing priorities effectively
