About the role
- Implement therapeutic plans under the supervision of a physical therapist
- Provide daily care, including gait training, balance exercises, strength training, endurance exercises, and functional mobility
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and wellness
- Ensure compliance with UAMS policies and HIPAA standards
- Operate and maintain physical therapy equipment
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Physical Therapy
- Current and valid licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy as a physical Therapist Assistant or eligible to apply for licensure
- Two (2) years of experience is preferred
- Current Arkansas license or eligible to apply and obtain license within one month of hire
- LSVT BIG or PWR! Moves certification is preferred
- Ability to educate and assist patients in managing chronic conditions and promoting wellness
- Skills in developing and implementing individualized health plans, collaborating with patients, families, and care providers, and coordinating outpatient follow-up
- Competence in maintaining accurate records, collecting payments, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies
- Capacity to work independently, maintain high-quality care standards, and adjust to changing workloads
- Commitment to ongoing training, skill assessments, and staff meetings to enhance competencies and support a culture of excellence
