About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide learning experiences in classroom, online, and/or lab settings under the supervision of the Dean of General Education
Use lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual aids, and technology to supplement instruction
Follow the established curriculum and syllabus while keeping students engaged
Create a positive educational climate and communicate clear learning objectives
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
Manage student behavior in classroom and online environments
Observe and evaluate student performance
Identify and refer at-risk students to the Student Success Coordinator
Provide student advisement and academic counseling through tutoring and mentoring
Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books, and track attendance
Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and training effectiveness
Participate in conferences, seminars, training sessions, and professional development activities
Provide input to and participate in academic committees
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA required
Minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area required
In Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia: Master’s degree in the discipline, or a Master’s degree in any discipline with 18 semester credit hours of relevant graduate coursework
Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years with an unrelated degree required
Minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
