About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the READY RURAL initiative and its mobile healthcare simulation program
  • Safely operate and transport the READY RURAL Mobile Simulation Lab to campus, healthcare, school, community, and rural partner locations
  • Set up and operate simulation equipment, telehealth and Virtual Care technology, audiovisual systems, and instructional technologies
  • Provide hands-on simulation and learning technology support in rural communities
  • Work with faculty, staff, learners, healthcare partners, and workforce participants
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections
  • Maintain transportation and deployment records
  • Coordinate basic site logistics
  • Load, secure, and prepare equipment for deployment
  • Maintain inventories
  • Inspect and clean simulation equipment
  • Troubleshoot basic technology issues
  • Document equipment readiness and identify maintenance or supply needs
  • Collect, organize, interpret, and disseminate data to identify instructional program needs
  • Assist with multimedia learning materials and learning resources
  • Support faculty development and engagement programs
  • Provide basic training and technical support to learners in classrooms, labs, clinics, and distance learning settings
  • Edit, review, and update instructional materials

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, educational technology, information technology, healthcare technology, simulation operations, transportation, logistics, or related field
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and eligibility to be an authorized driver through UW System
  • Experience operating vehicles, trailers, RVs, service vehicles, mobile units, or related equipment
  • Experience setting up, maintaining, or troubleshooting equipment, technology, audiovisual tools, healthcare training equipment, or instructional technology
  • Ability to lift, move, load, unload, and set up equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to travel throughout Wisconsin
  • Ability to work occasional evening, weekend, or overnight deployment schedules as needed

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment
