About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead instructional design, educational technology, digital learning, and multimedia development for the READY RURAL initiative
  • Partner with faculty and subject matter experts to transform content into engaging, accessible, workforce-focused learning experiences
  • Design and develop instructional materials for online, hybrid, face-to-face, simulation, mobile, and partner-based learning environments
  • Create learning resources supporting rural healthcare education, including telehealth, virtual care, remote patient monitoring, behavioral health, home-based care, interprofessional practice, care coordination, and workforce readiness
  • Support development of stackable credentials, continuing education offerings, faculty development resources, and workforce training programs
  • Consult with faculty and staff on instructional technologies, digital learning tools, accessibility, and inclusive teaching practices
  • Develop instructional videos, simulations, interactive learning modules, digital toolkits, and tutorials
  • Ensure learning materials meet quality and accessibility standards
  • Manage instructional design and media development projects by coordinating timelines, maintaining documentation, and creating reusable resources
  • Train faculty and project personnel on educational technologies
  • Support collection and interpretation of data to improve learning experiences and program effectiveness
  • Apply project management principles by defining scope, establishing milestones, and tracking progress
  • Provide pedagogical consultation on instructional tools, digital content best practices, and institutional initiatives
  • Build collaborative relationships with instructors and academic staff
  • Review courses, media, and learning products using industry standards and accessibility best practices
  • Coordinate pre-production, production, and post-production media development with campus partners
  • Create documentation, templates, instructional technology guidance, and a library of shareable resources
  • Design learning activities and course content that foster inclusive and equitable student experiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Learning Design, Media Production, Healthcare Education, or related field
  • Experience designing online, hybrid, technology-enhanced, or multimedia learning experiences
  • Experience with learning management systems, digital learning tools, instructional technologies, or media production tools
  • Experience consulting with faculty, instructors, trainers, or subject matter experts
  • Strong project management, communication, organization, and technical problem-solving skills
  • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, learning sciences, curriculum and instruction, healthcare education, or related field preferred
  • Experience supporting healthcare education, simulation-based education, workforce development, continuing education, or academic-practice training preferred
  • Experience with Canvas, Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, H5P, video platforms, virtual simulation tools, or similar systems preferred
  • Experience with accessibility standards, Universal Design for Learning, inclusive pedagogy, and AI-assisted instructional design preferred
  • Experience supporting telehealth, digital health, Virtual Care, or simulation learning environments preferred
  • Resume and cover letter required
  • Three references required during the interview process, including at least one manager or supervisor
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment
  • Subject to pre-employment screening including criminal background check, work authorization, and education verification
