About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary point person for assigned students throughout enrollment
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, general student services, and educational coaching
- Connect with assigned students and establish proactive wraparound support relationships
- Develop individualized learning plans with resources and timely next steps
- Monitor academic progress and intervene with students experiencing difficulty
- Liaise with faculty and program representatives regarding student progress and mastery
- Identify and address work/life barriers to student success
- Provide career guidance and refer students to campus career services
- Collaborate with stakeholders to meet enrollment and retention goals
- Remain available and responsive during scheduled hours
- Work with campus partners and program representatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in advising, counseling, student services, human services or related field
- Professional experience in a higher education setting preferred
- Master’s degree in an appropriate field preferred
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software preferred
- Salesforce experience preferred
- Experience with student information systems preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to match message delivery to audience needs via multiple delivery methods
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service
- Demonstrated experience utilizing active listening and critical thinking skills to solve problems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and handle ambiguity
- Ability to use databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and social networking tools
- Residency in or relocation to Wisconsin required
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship required
- Successful completion of criminal background and reference checks required
