About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Secure frontend architecture: You design and implement framework-agnostic Web Components.
  • Build a design system: You develop a centralized design system based on native web standards.
  • Evolve the Vue.js application landscape: You take ownership of an existing codebase, perform an assessment and gradually migrate it to the new design system.
  • Accessibility: You develop according to WCAG guidelines.
  • Bring the frontend perspective: You contribute the frontend view in API discussions with backend engineers, architects and product managers.
  • Ensure quality: You are responsible for appropriate test coverage — unit tests, component tests, end-to-end tests.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Essential web-standards expertise: Deep knowledge of vanilla JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and Web Components (Custom Elements, Shadow DOM).
  • Security mindset: Clear understanding of the OWASP Top 10 — XSS, CSRF, misconfigured CORS, and Content Security Policy (CSP).
  • Vue.js experience: Refactoring and debugging grown/legacy code, state management (Pinia/Vuex), and router structures.
  • Accessibility: Solid WCAG knowledge; BITV 2.0 (German accessibility guideline) is a plus.
  • UX judgement: You independently make UX decisions even without a dedicated design team.
  • Technological resilience: You can assess an unfamiliar codebase in a structured way, prioritize work and continue development without panic.
  • AI as a working method: You use AI-assisted tools in your daily work by default — this is an expectation, not optional.
  • Language: Very good command of English, written and spoken — English is our working language.
  • Nice-to-have: TypeScript (strongly preferred), basic Python for reading backend code, Linux environments, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD experience, basic IAM understanding, German language skills.
