About the role

  • Manage the month-end close process, including but not limited to, preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations
  • Own end-to-end Fixed Asset accounting within NetSuite, including asset set-up, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals, and maintain accurate fixed asset subledgers and roll-forwards.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of prepaid expenses, including capitalization and monthly amortization schedules in NetSuite, ensuring accurate P&L recognition and reconciled prepaid balances.
  • Lead the accounting for leases under ASC 842, including identification, classification, and ongoing accounting for operating and finance leases, and maintain ROU asset and lease liability schedules.
  • Assist with annual audit and quarterly/monthly reporting requirements
  • Partner closely with FP&A to ensure P&L accuracy and insight and drive continuous process improvements that enhance forecast reliability, variance analysis, and month-end close
  • Manage, mentor, train and develop accounting support staff
  • Prepare and review various monthly analytical reporting and fluctuation analyses
  • Maintain general accounting close process documentation and support ongoing process and control improvements
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses, as requested
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree, and have active CPA license.
  • 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including public and private accounting
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred; direct experience with fixed assets, prepaid, and lease accounting modules strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls, including ASC 842 lease accounting
  • Experience building and improving accounting processes, controls and systems
  • Experience with financial & enterprise systems and prior experience with general ledger entries.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
