Events

• Undertake a semester-long research project and produce a policy memo.
• Research and analyze dynamics in countries experiencing or at risk of experiencing mass atrocities. Draft written products relating to the prevention of or response to mass atrocities in these contexts.
• Support outreach to policymakers on thematic areas of mass atrocity prevention and response as well as on particular cases.
• Assist in tracking policy outreach to key stakeholders.
• Support the organizing of private or public convenings.
• Prepare detailed notes from interviews and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Intern – Policy

• Assist with a variety of projects and activities related to genocide prevention and response including research, policy outreach, education initiatives, and administrative support
• Provide assistance to multiple Simon-Skjodt Center research projects, including the Early Warning Project and the Lessons Learned in Preventing and Responding to Mass Atrocities project
• Work on a variety of research projects related to the dynamics of mass atrocities and policy responses in countries at risk of or currently experiencing mass atrocities
• Conduct literature reviews of scholarly studies about mass atrocities and their prevention
• Prepare detailed notes from interviews and other meetings
• Support research for the Early Warning Project, including analyzing fatality counts in high-risk countries using Excel, analysis based on qualitative reporting, and research about selected countries at risk
• Draft analytic memos and rapporteur's reports
• Other duties as assigned

Research Intern – Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide

Ecommerce

• Monitor AI outputs for Holocaust-related queries and track the citations of USHMM resources.
• Review and document on-page-optimization recommendations for Holocaust Encyclopedia article pages.
• Track trending keywords using Google’s Search Console.
• Review and organize ID cards of Holocaust survivors and victims.
• Write alt text for images that appear in the Holocaust Encyclopedia.

Intern – Museum Experience, Digital Media

General

• Advise on youth perspective, Holocaust programming, and Holocaust denial and distortion (HDD)
• Perform research related to Holocaust denial and distortion as needed
• Assist with the compilation of an internal inventory of Museum resources on various topics
• Organize and compile individual personal stories regarding Holocaust history
• Attend and assist with the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and other onsite programming at the Museum as needed
