About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients
- Serve as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management
- Safely administer medications according to UHS Hospitals policy
- Support productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies
- Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, Unit Council, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices
- Engage in professional development, continuing nursing education, and mandatory education
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing preferred
- CCRN preferred
- Relevant skills certification such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC as required by the home unit assigned
