About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist customers and other employees by performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, evaluating and understanding their individual needs and formulating a plan to ensure they are met
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of water and wastewater systems including pumps, valves, motors, lift stations, wells, and other systems
  • Work on an assigned work schedule of 7:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. Monday - Friday, with the ability to work overtime hours as needed
  • Travel to customer locations, with some out state travel required (10% - 15% of the time)
  • May need to work on-call
  • Opportunities for advancement into higher-level technical positions based on performance and development.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to use general business software (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Excel, Adobe Acrobat) and hardware (smartphone/tablet, notebook computer, etc.)
  • Small to medium water and sewer utility systems knowledge, troubleshooting ability and equipment maintenance experience is preferred
  • Previous experience in mechanical, electrical, construction, or related fields is highly preferred
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and unrestricted driver’s license with acceptable MVR
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, and follow OSHA, MSHA, DOT, DEQ, EPA, and other applicable safety and regulatory standards
  • Ability and willingness to learn continuously through training and independently are essential for this position
