About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for overseeing all front-end workflows by monitoring accuracy of patient information including demographic and insurance information into the EHR
- Coaches and mentors all Patient Access teams towards providing exceptional service; conduct hiring, onboarding, training, discipline, performance management, and related routine personnel operations.
- Implement and streamline processes related to patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for Operations and Clinical teams, providing quick resolutions surrounding patient access issues.
- Ensures all staff are compliant with relevant healthcare regulations including HIPAA.
- Supervise the insurance verification and authorization process, ensuring accurate and timely confirmation of patient coverage and benefits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to patient access, registration, and insurance verification.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to optimize scheduling practices.
- Track, monitor, and analyze Patient Access KPIs to identify areas of improvement and efficiency gains.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to FQHC Revenue Cycle Management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree in health administration or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role in Revenue Cycle Management
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and practice management software, preferably EPIC
- Strong working knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management in a healthcare setting specifically in patient access, registration, insurance verification.
- FQHC experience is highly preferred
- Ability to write and run various workbench reports and dashboards to monitor activity and identify trends
- Access to transportation for travel to other UCFS sites in Colchester, Griswold, Norwich, and New London, CT as needed
