About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and retain profitable client relationships
  • Develop new business through active calling on clients and prospects
  • Develop and maintain a strong COI network
  • Research and develop leads using Vertical IQ, Business Browser, or other available tools
  • Manage individual production against assigned goals
  • Recommend loan structure, terms, and rates
  • Provide guidance to credit analysts
  • Manage the loan closing process, including preparing term sheets and commitment letters and communicating with attorneys, appraisers, and related professionals
  • Ensure adherence to company loan policies and procedures
  • Evaluate risk to meet profitability standards
  • Participate in community activities and events such as Chamber, Kiwanis, and Rotary
  • Perform quarterly check-ins and maintain management plans with staff goals, if applicable
  • Coach, develop, and manage the performance of employees, if applicable
  • Complete required compliance, internal, and external training programs, meetings, and seminars/conferences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or accounting preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three years’ banking experience in credit analysis or lending
  • Ability to analyze complex financial statements or complete a commercial analyst training program
  • Effective sales and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs
  • Must complete required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training
  • Must pass a criminal background and credit check
  • Schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Up to 20% travel required
