About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in daily administration of Microsoft SQL Server, including monitoring, user management, backups, and basic troubleshooting.
- Support Snowflake administrative tasks such as user/role management, basic security configuration, and access troubleshooting.
- Help maintain integrations such as API connectors, storage integrations, and external access connections.
- Monitor platform health and escalate issues to senior engineers or DBAs when needed.
- Oversee account configuration, role hierarchy, and security policies.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Participate in automation efforts for SQL Server and Snowflake administrative tasks under the guidance of senior staff.
- Assist with CI/CD processes, including database deployments and testing.
- Support infrastructure‑as‑code efforts as appropriate.
- Support adherence to data governance practices, including tagging, classification, and retention policies across SQL Server and Snowflake.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience can be substituted.
- 3-5 years of experience in SQL Server, Snowflake, data engineering, database operations, or related technical field.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL queries, and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Understanding of RBAC and general security principles.
- Experience with SSIS and other ETL/ELT processes and data integration tools.
- Ability to work onsite at the bank’s headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.
- Exposure to Python or other scripting languages for automation.
- Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Snowflake or SQL Server certifications/badges (helpful but not required).
