About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct thorough investigations for low complexity insurance claims
- Collect photographs, statements, police reports, and other documentation
- Review damage to vehicles or other insured items
- Use industry-standard tools and software to estimate repair costs and replacement values
- Review policies to verify coverage, limitations, and exclusions
- Analyze accidents or incidents to establish liability
- Document interactions, investigations, and assessments
- Communicate findings and decisions to policyholders, claimants, and stakeholders
- Negotiate fair and reasonable settlements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements
- Address inquiries and provide regular updates to policyholders and claimants
- Collaborate with underwriting and legal departments for accurate and timely claims processing
- Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance standards
- Meet targets for productivity, cycle time, quality, compliance, customer satisfaction, and timely claim resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred
- Four years of prior experience in insurance or customer service accepted in lieu of degree
- Must hold a Florida 6-20 All Lines Adjuster License
- Dual license in Texas highly preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance policies, regulations, and procedures is a plus
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Windows-based applications, and internet usage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and handle multiple claims simultaneously
- Must reside in one of the listed states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, Indiana, or Virginia
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must meet employment eligibility requirements; UAIC participates in E-Verify
