About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review first-party property damage claims to determine subrogation potential.
- Evaluate policy coverage and confirm eligibility for subrogation recovery.
- Conduct thorough investigations to establish liability against at-fault parties.
- Analyze police reports, witness statements, photographs, recorded statements, repair estimates, and other claim documentation.
- Obtain additional evidence necessary to strengthen subrogation demands, including: Insured and witness statements, Surveillance or security video, Photographs, Accident reports, Vehicle inspections, Any other documentation supporting liability and damages.
- Prepare and present comprehensive subrogation demands to adverse carriers or responsible parties.
- Negotiate settlements to maximize recoveries while maintaining compliance with company guidelines.
- Identify claims with litigation potential by evaluating liability, damages, collectability, and available evidence.
- Review files to determine whether litigation is appropriate and refer qualifying claims for legal action.
- Assess collectability of claims and recommend appropriate recovery strategies.
- Work closely with attorneys, vendors, investigators, and internal departments throughout the recovery process.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim documentation in the claim management system.
- Manage diary activities to ensure timely follow-up and compliance with department standards.
- Meet departmental productivity, quality, and recovery goals.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve recovery outcomes and contribute ideas that increase department performance and overall recoveries.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an adjuster.
- Adjuster’s License.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Windows-based applications and internet usage.
- Ability to work independently, make sound judgments and handle multiple claims simultaneously.
