Field Auto Appraiser
United Automobile Insurance CompanyField Auto Appraiser assessing damages to auto and home properties. Working remotely in Orlando, Florida area with compliance to industry standards and regulations.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect and appraise damaged property (auto or home), either in-person or virtually, depending on assignment
- Prepare detailed, itemized repair estimates using industry-standard software (e.g., Audatex/Qapter, CCC One, Xactimate, Mitchell)
- Determine repair versus total loss thresholds and recommend next steps
- Review photos, videos, and documentation submitted by claimants, repair shops, or adjusters
- Collaborate with adjusters, repair facilities, and policyholders to verify losses and resolve disputes
- Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company guidelines, and ethical standards
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for claims handling
- Stay up to date on Texas repair laws, materials pricing, and appraisal practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in property or auto damage appraisal, preferably in a P&C insurance setting
- Presentable and reliable vehicle suitable for daily field work (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Florida All-Lines Adjuster License (or ability to obtain within 60 days) preferred
- Proficient with estimating software such as CCC One, Audatex, Xactimate, or similar
- Strong knowledge of Texas insurance and repair laws
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
